Tax Residency Rules
You become a Portuguese tax resident if you:
- Spend more than 183 days in Portugal in a calendar year
- Have a habitual residence in Portugal on December 31st
NHR 2.0 Program Details
The original NHR program is no longer available. The new NHR 2.0 has more restrictive criteria and requires case-by-case assessment for eligibility.
